The town of Gates has been controlled by the Republican party for 30 years, family members many have jobs with the town or county, the Monroe Republicans have run the county and towns for 25 years, a great profitable power with a budget of tens of millions of dollars, now the Democrats have done the same sort of games with the city. It is interesting to see the power base and how it runs things. The main paper controls WHO can write letters to the editors, and comments are quickly removed if some independent citizen seems to rise up and get his fellow neighbors organized. The alternative news paper city, does the same thing. The last spot of individual freedom and expression is cable 12 west, and the Internet. Soon public access will be removed, and the next stop the Internet.
